Knaphill Bowling Club
Welcome to Knaphill Bowling Club
Sussex Road Recreation Ground. GU21 2RA.
We are a friendly lawn bowling club based in Knaphill Surrey with one of the best greens in the area. Founded in 1926 as Knaphill Recreation Bowling Club, it changed its name to Knaphill Bowling Club in 1975, when our badge was redesigned to its current format. The club has only ever had eight presidents: 1926 - 1957 Dr GW Morris Pritchett 1958 - 1967 Guy Pritchett 1968 - 1983 Bill Brookes 1984 - 1985 Duncan Fraser 1986 - 1988 Robin Duncan 1989 - 2002 Alan Tingay 2003 - 2013 Alan Bennet 2014 - Norman Crawley Members have free use of our six rinks and are welcome to take part in the many friendly and league games that we play. Additionally, we run a number of internal competitions. Members have complimentary access to our qualified coaches if they wish to improve their game. Throughout the winter months, we have two short mat rinks to keep us going, and we hold several social events as well. If you are interested in finding out more about this great game, come along and meet us. There will usually be somebody here, especially on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings when you can have a go or speak to some of our members. Alternatively, please contact one of the people named above and they will be happy to tell you more. There is no obligation to take it any further, so why not take the first step and come talk to us.
